Recipe 60: Green Iced Tea with Berries and Mint

You know I am pretty keen on eating healthy and nutritious meals, but that does not mean that I mind going out with friends every once in a while and drink quite a few glasses of wine while I am at it. In order to make up for this a bit, I like to start the day after with a bit of a detoxifying green ice tea. Here is my go-to recipe for days like this!
  • Green tea - 1 bag
  • Ice cubes - 1 cup
  • Mixed berries, frozen - 1/2 cup
  • Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
  • Stevia or another sweetener - to taste
  • Water, cold - 1 cup
  • Mint, fresh - a few leafs

  1. Make about half a cup of very strong green tea. Let this cool down slightly.
  2. Add the lemon juice and sweetener to the tea. Then add the extra cup of water (which should be as cold as possible) and the ice cubes. Stir well.
  3. Lastly, add the frozen berries and mint. Do not stir in too much, of the color of the beverage will become bright red.
Of course you can play with flavors here. I used green tea with jasmine and mixed berries, but you could also use a fruity green tea and add some frozen mango or pineapple cubes. It is all up to you!

I secretly believe this drink would also be super yummy with a shot or liquor in it, but that would make it a bit less detoxifying...
