Recipe 47: Coconut Chai Ice Tea

I love tea in every way: I love it warm, I love it green, I love it sweet, I love it cold, I love it with milk, I love any taste, and I could drink it at any time of the day. Like plain unsweetened black tea, I also love it with milk, especially when it is a Chai tea latte. One of my first recipes on this blog was my recipe for Chai tea latte, and now I bring to you... my coconut Chai latte ice tea!

What do you need?
  • Chai tea - 1 tea bag
  • Water - 1/3 cup
  • Sugar - 2 tsp
  • Milk, non-dairy - 1/2 cup
  • Coconut cream - 2 tbsp
  • Ice cubes - 12 pieces approximately

How to make it?

  1. Boil the water and add to the Chai tea bag. Make sure you make the tea very strong. Add the sugar when it is still warm, so it dissolves.
  2. When the tea is cooled down, add all the ingredients to a blender, and blend up! If you add more ice cubes, you will get a frappuchino-like consistency, but otherwise you will end up with a lovely ice cold drink.
  3. Serve in a glass (or several smaller ones).

The coconut cream contains healthy fats, which will create a sort of cream-like foam on top. I drank this after some really spicy food, and I loved it!

Enjoy!

Liefs,

Debs.
