Recipe 27: One-Ingredient Banana Ice Cream with Raw Cocoa Powder and Flax Seeds

The title says it all! This ice cream contains three ingredients: banana, raw cocoa powder, and flax seeds. The banana creates this lovely sweetness and texture, the raw cocoa adds an amazing taste and is incredibly healthy for you, and flax seeds add a bit of crunch, and they add loads of omega 3 and fiber to this ice cream!
What do you need?
  • Banana, cut up and frozen - 2 small/medium
  • Organic raw cocoa powder, or regular unsweetened - 2 tbsp
  • Flax seeds - 2 tbsp
This serves one or two people, but it is very adaptable. One-ingredient-banana ice cream is known for its easy way of preparation, and because it is super healthy. You could add peanut butter to it, or walnuts, or chocolate chips, or all of it. The sky is the limit! As you saw, I am going with a raw cocoa and flax seeds.

How to make it?
  • Cut up your bananas in medium-thin slices, and freeze for at least two hours. I usually freeze them overnight, but they will definitely be frozen within two hours. Make sure that as you freeze them, they do not stick together.
  • Put all of your ingredients in a kitchen machine. It should have rather sharp blades. If you add raw cocoa and flax seeds to this, add it in at once. If you use nuts, add them in when the frozen banana is almost completely smooth, so you will still have little chunks in there.
  • Mix until completely smooth, yet still thick and cold.

This ice cream is perfect at any time of year, but especially when the sun starts coming out again! It is entirely natural, healthy, and so good for your brain and energy level! I will be studying all day today, and banana is known for its stress-relieving power.

Enjoy your Sunday, lovelies!

Liefs,

Debs.
