Recipe 15: Basic Green Smoothie

When I got home from town this afternoon, I was exhausted. I do not know why, maybe because I started eating completely vegan and had not had any carbs yet, but it was clear that I needed a little energy boost. I know the 'healthy food world' enjoys its green smoothies, but I often hear people find it difficult to find versions without any magical sprinkles. Most people add superfoods that are incredibly good for you, like chia seeds or goji berries, but they are sometimes difficult to get your hands on. Therefore, I will provide you with a very easy, basic green smoothie recipe, and you can add anything you want!
What do you need?
  • Banana - 1 medium/large
  • Spinach - 2 cups
  • Lettuce, cut up, does not have to be iceberg - 2 cups
  • Water - 1 cup
  • Unsweetened non-dairy milk or water - 1 cup
How to make it?
  1. Smoothies are the least complicated things ever. Put everything into the blender, and mix until smooth!

This might not be the yummiest thing on earth, but apparently banana is one of the best sources for energy, and spinach cleanses your body like a maniac, so if you add some superfoods to this, you will become unstoppable!
